Oh HAPPY DAY: Mission PigPossible!! 
Fourteen precious mini Yucatan pigs just left an undisclosed research laboratory in the Midwest!!! New Life Animal Sanctuary is proud and honored to have coordinated the release of these lucky pigs who are now en route to 5 wonderful, reputable sanctuaries in 4 different states!!
We dubbed the effort “Mission PigPossible” due to the many twists, turns and obstacles we had to overcome and today, it was all worth it!
After weeks of complex coordination and planning, advocates will be traveling thousands of miles over two very long days in two separate transports to bring the pigs safely to their new homes. The pigs are going in groups of two, three or four to Snouts of the Southwest in Hereford, Arizona; Unicorn Ranch in Vista, California; Leo’s Animal Sanctuary in Onyx, California; Wildlings Forest Sanctuary in Portland, Oregon; and Heartwood Haven in Roy, Washington.
New Life Animal Sanctuary, which specializes in providing a “Life After Labs” for research survivors, coordinated and carried out the complex operation and Kindness Ranch, dedicated to rehabilitating and rehoming animals retired from laboratory research, played a vital role in securing their release. Additionally, funding partners who made this mission possible include Rise for Animals, Nancy and Camrin Christensen, and The Diane Warren Foundation.
Mission PigPossible is dedicated to Gina’s mother, Sherry Alvarado – a longtime vegan and animal advocate – who very recently lost her 17 year battle with cancer. Gina, our sanctuary founder, was at her mother’s bedside while planning this rescue.
